Preparation steps

Peel the potatoes, cut into bite size pieces and cook for 20 minutes in salt water. Cook the pasta in salt water, according to the package instructions.

Whisk the eggs, milk and cheese together. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Pour half of the mixture into a baking dish. Drain the potatoes and pasta, mix with the parsley and butter and pour into the baking dish. Cover with the remaining milk and egg mixture. Cover with aluminum foil. Bake for about 30 minutes at 200°C (approximately 400°F).

Peel the onions, cut into thin rings and saute in butter until golden brown. Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle with cheese and onions. Serve hot.
